Gene’s passion for the business of law is rooted in his 40-plus years of legal industry experience while practicing law and arbitrating and mediating complex construction, real estate, and commercial disputes. He gained a broad understanding of law firm management principles and the value of human capital by serving as a young partner on the management committee of a midsize Colorado firm and through his capstone law firm experience as managing shareholder in the Denver office of an Am Law 100 firm.

He has developed and promoted industry surveys to better understand law firm talent strategies and Gene frequently speaks at law firm, bar association, and CLE events to share insights about the forces reshaping the legal profession. His impactful smart growth strategies are informed by deep research on legal industry developments and frequent consultation with leaders in the field.
