Gene Commander has proven he can help clients avoid or successfully resolve business and construction disputes.
After more than 35 years of experience as an attorney representing clients from virtually every sector of the construction industry, he established Gene Commander Inc in 2015 to leverage his dispute resolution experience as a client advocate and third party neutral. Gene provides customized and proactive mediation and arbitration services to business and construction professionals involved in alternative dispute resolution proceedings administered privately and through the American Arbitration Association.
Gene served as the Denver office managing shareholder for Polsinelli PC, a Kansas City-based Am Law 100 national firm, where his practice focused primarily on the representation of general contractors, design-builders and construction managers, with many of his clients listed in Engineering News-Record’s “Top 400 Contractors.”
Gene has handled complex litigation and arbitration before state and federal courts, arbitration panels, government agencies and a variety of alternative dispute resolution forums. His experience includes United States litigation and arbitration arising from international business transactions and projects located in Canada, Honduras and the Republic of Marshall Islands.
Gene’s professional experience and accomplishments have earned him recognition by Engineering News-Record as recipient of the ENR Mountain States 2015 Legacy Award and by The Best Lawyers in America as the 2016 Construction Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Denver.
